What’s on the agenda?

So, what’s up? Well, aside from our general maintenance of the facilities and recent upgrades to flotation, electrical and water services, we have a “To Do List”: We have been working with Small Craft Harbours to upgrade the existing crane at the Madeira wharf to assist our commercial fisherman and others with more efficient loading and offloading of their vessels. This project will either be separate or include a major upgrade to the wharfhead itself depending on cooperation from SCH.

We have also been working with relevant entities such as MOTI (ministry of transportation), FLINRO (what the heck does this stand for?), DFO and the Shishlash Native Council to get approval for a major upgrade to the existing boat launching ramp. We would like to expand the ramp to have two lanes as well as a loading/off loading dock. We will be upgrading the washrooms at Millenium Park and are investigating the possibility of installing coin operated laundry facilities for customers. We also have plans to replace the deteriorating decking at Millenium Park. For this task, we might ask for assistance from other volunteer groups in the community.

Do you have any thoughts regarding these plans or our operation in general? We would love to hear from you!

As a matter of fact, we would love to have some of your valuable time. We are constantly striving to expand our Membership base.
